Support
Something wrong on the water, or with an app built on FishByte? Email sam@fishbytetech.com and a person will read it. We aim to reply within one business day, and faster on a tournament day.
What to include
The more of this you can give us, the fewer round trips it takes:
- The tournament series and the event you were fishing.
- The email address on your account.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the app showed you something confusing.
- Your phone model and the app version, from the bottom of the app's settings.
Common problems
A catch is stuck uploading
Catches are saved on your phone first and upload on their own once you have signal, so a slow lake does not cost you an entry. If one is still pending after you are back in coverage, open the app and leave it in the foreground for a minute โ it retries on its own and will tell you why it stopped if it cannot finish. If it still will not send, email us before the tournament's cutoff and include the time you caught the fish.
The camera will not open
The app needs camera access and permission to save to your photo library. Both live in iOS Settings under the app's name. A denied photo-library permission stops the camera from opening at all, which looks like the button doing nothing.
You cannot sign in
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. The reset link goes to the address on the account. If that address is wrong or you no longer have it, email us from any address and tell us the series you fish โ we will verify you with the tournament director.
Entry fees and refunds
Entry fees are set and collected by your tournament organization, not by FishByte, and refunds are their decision. Contact the series directly. We can help with a payment that failed or charged twice.
A catch was rejected
Judging belongs to the tournament organization. The app shows the reason a catch was rejected; if you disagree, take it up with the series. FishByte does not overturn a director's ruling.
Deleting your account
Email sam@fishbytetech.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm and complete the request within 30 days. What happens to catches in concluded tournaments is described in the Privacy Policy.
For tournament directors
You do not need us to get started. Create your organization at tournaments.fishbytetech.com, set up your first tournament, and anglers can enter it through the FishByte app the same day.
Need help with an event or a payout โ or want your series as your own branded app in the App Store rather than the shared one? Email sam@fishbytetech.com and say which series you run.
